Charlie Moreno is a bassist, composer, producer, and clinician born in Gran Canaria, who has been based on the Spanish mainland—between Madrid and Barcelona—for almost 20 years. He has studied with some of the greatest musicians in the jazz scene, including Russell Malone, Gary Grainger, Yellowjackets, Dave Weckl, Tom Kennedy, Richard Bona, Richie Goods, Victor Bailey, and Victor Wooten, among others.
He is currently a private electric bass teacher with students from all over the country, and the bandleader of his own project POWAFUNK, which released its debut album in 2016. He is also a founding member of the Remembering Prince project and has performed as a supporting musician for major Spanish pop artists.
Throughout his professional career, Charlie has collaborated with musicians of the highest caliber, such as American violinist Christian Howes, Chuck Loeb, Polo Ortí, Joel Rosenblatt, Till Brönner, Eric Marienthal, Anthony Jackson, Steve Lawson, Mike Ricchiuti, Phil Magnotti, Carles Benavent, Federico Lechner, Torsten de Winkel, Héctor Salazar, José Antonio Ramos, Andreas Prittwitz, Mestisay, Los Coquillos, Kike Perdomo, Esther Ovejero, Nantha Kumar, and many others.
