Born in North London under the creative vision of their founder and director Volney Morgan, the group brings together a collective of powerful and charismatic voices that combine energy, talent, and a deep passion for gospel music.
Their debut album Focus, released in its Deluxe edition in 2017, reached number one on the UK iTunes Christian & Gospel charts. This project marked a turning point in their career, offering a repertoire that blends rhythm, spirituality, and reflection, and featuring international collaborations such as U.S. gospel artist Micah Stampley on the track What a Mighty God.
Throughout their career, Volney Morgan & New-Ye have been honored with prestigious awards including the MOBO Awards and the UK Entertainment Awards, as well as appearances at the BBC Proms and numerous international festivals. They have shared the stage with legendary artists such as Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Michelle Williams, Matt Redman and CeCe Winans, and have brought their music to leading British media outlets including BBC Radio 1 Xtra and Premier Gospel Radio.
In 2022, they collaborated with Apple Inc.’s record label Platoon to release the single I Still Believe, a tribute to gospel heritage that led them to perform before Apple CEO Tim Cook. A year later, they made history by becoming the first British gospel group to headline the Big Church Festival, delivering a memorable main stage performance, alongside appearances at the Royal Albert Hall and on Polish national television.
With their vibrant sound, innovative style, and message filled with faith and hope, Volney Morgan & New-Ye continue to share the spirit of gospel on an international scale. Each performance is a celebration of the soul and of the transformative power of music, blending tradition and modernity with an unshakable passion for sharing good news through art.
