The Black Heritage Choir brings together a select group of vocalists from the legendary Mississippi Mass Choir, one of the most influential gospel ensembles in the recent history of the United States. Under the musical direction of pianist, composer, and arranger Jerry Calvin Smith, the choir keeps the tradition of African American gospel alive through performances filled with power, spirituality, and emotion.
Its repertoire traces the evolution of gospel music, from the spirituals born in African American churches to contemporary compositions that have taken the genre to stages around the world. With a vibrant stage presence and outstanding vocal excellence, the Black Heritage Choir conveys the very essence of a musical tradition that has shaped the cultural history of the United States and continues to inspire new generations.

The ensemble has toured internationally with acclaimed productions such as The Sound of Gospel and The Soul of Gospel, bringing the richness of traditional and contemporary gospel music to audiences across Europe. Their performances combine the energy of a large choir, the exceptional musicianship of its members, and the enduring legacy of the Mississippi Mass Choir, a worldwide benchmark in gospel music since the late 1980s.
