The origin of the BMMA dates back to 1985, when the City Council wanted to promote musical training within the area of Culture. In 1988, it gave its first performance with a Christmas Concert and since then it has participated in: concert cycles (Veranos del Sur, Música en Primavera, Música en Otoño….), and in events and parties inside and outside the municipality, band competitions, congresses of the Tenerife Federation of Music Bands…
The BMMA has travelled to: La Palma, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Mallorca, Austria, Italy, Valencia, Murcia, Norway and South Korea.
In 1999 it recorded its first album, in which you can find, among others, the interpretation of the Cantos Canarios by Teobaldo Power.
Since its foundation, its Director is Jung Chul Choi Oh, who was a member of the Seoul Symphony Orchestra, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and a professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Many of the activities and events of the Band are possible thanks to the collaboration of the Association “Amigos de la Música”, chaired by Mr. Agustín Aponte García.
